How to Maximize Your Flight Discounts
Saving some money on your fare is the first step to maximizing your senior discount. Do your best to fly light, as most airlines charge checked bag fees today.
Have some flexibility with your travel dates whenever possible. Flying on Tuesdays is often cheaper than flying on a Friday. If you book your tickets 3-4 weeks in advance, you may be able to receive a lower rate as well.
Then remember to check all possible discounts that are available through your airline of choice. You may find that some promotional offers will give you a better discount than the promoted senior discount.
Be sure to contact the airline personally, or through your travel agent, to take advantage of these possible discounts.
